At the Premiers Debating Challenge State Championship our amazing Debating Team have finished in the top 4 of NSW. Beaten by Byron Bay HS in the semi final, who went on to be State Champions, HWMHS was the only team to beat them in the lead up rounds.
Congratulations Archie, Hilton, Dan, Genevieve and Ms Booth who have made us all so proud.
Special mention to Josh who is in NZ for cricket. He was the third speaker of the team to get them to State.
It takes a village.
We acknowledge our partner primary schools, particularly Mrs Fleur Cullenward, for the ground work in our students' development and for assisting with feedback for our team.
Ms Leonie Booth has spent hours in preparing this team and her belief in them has been outstanding.
All staff who have taught these students have positively influenced their learning.
To our families who encourage and support our students, thank you. The confidence of these young people is to be commended.
